Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites extraordinary applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research on simulating precipitation and dissolution of minerals in porous and fractured media. As a postdoc, you will work with scientists in our Chemical Sciences Division (CSD) to model experimental aqueous solution chemistry, tomography, and porosity distribution data taken in rock cores reacted with aqueous fluids and CO2, and improve our capabilities to predict how porosity and permeability evolve by incorporating process-based models of geochemical reactions. The position relates to research on understanding and analyzing chemical reactions of rocks and minerals in the subsurface, and resides in the Geochemistry and Interfacial Sciences Group in the Chemical Sciences Division (CSD), Physical Sciences Directorate (PSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
